Statement on infection control

As someone who has practiced Dentistry since 1984 I have witnessed first hand how Dentistry (Dentists) are and shall remain in the forefront of infection control and patient care. Starting with the modifications and treatments rendered during the AIDS crisis of the mid 1980's of which I witnessed and participated in.

OUR OFFICE INFECTION CONTROL HAS SYSTEMS IN PLACE TO OFFER MAXIMUM SAFETY FOR OUR PATIENTS AND STAFF

During the Covid19 Pandemic the biggest concern we as Dentists have is aerosol production. Many Dentists are following suit to what my own practice is doing:

1. Installing high powered military grade suction unites that include HEPA filtration and UV sterilization and which are touted as 99% effective according to research
2. Using accessory high speed chair side vacuums
3. Using rubber Dam as a barrier when indicated
4. Having patients rinse with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to reduce viral loads.
5.PPE use that includes head covering, masks, gloves, disposable waterproof gowns, plastic face shields and office worn scrubs, and shoes beneath

ONLY ONE PATIENT IS PERMITTED IN THE RECEPTION AREA AT A TIME. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PHONE THE OFFICE ON YOUR ARRIVAL AND WILL BE CALLED WHEN TO ENTER.

NO ONE IS PERMITTED ENTRANCE TO THE OFFICE WITHOUT A MASK AND FOR YOUR SAFETY, EVERYONE WHO ENTERS THE OFFICE (INCLUDING STAFF) HAS THEIR TEMPERATURE TAKEN AND GIVEN HAND SANITIZER. PRIOR TO ANY TREATMENT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE MOUTH RINSE IS ALSO USED TO DECREASE ANY VIRUS IN SALIVA.  APPOINTMENTS ARE BEING SPACED TO ALLOW MAXIMUM DISINFECTION/ STERILIZATION BETWEEN PATIENTS
